The Turner Prize (named after the painter) is an annual prize presented to a British visual artist under the age of 50.
Each year after the announcement of the four nominees and during the build-up to the announcement of the winner, the Prize receives intense attention from the media. Much of this attention is critical and the question is often asked, “Is this art?”
Celebrating its 30th year the Turner Prize 2014 is presented at Tate Britain from 30th September 2014 – 4th January 2015. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony, broadcast live on Channel 4, Monday 1 December 2014. Click here for more details.
