Return of Cirque du Soleil
“Amaluna will send your spirit soaring and bring your heart to places it’s never been before”
Due to overwhelming demand Cirque du Soleil has returned to the Royal Albert Hall.
Cirque Du Soleil focuses it’s shows on narratives from which a theme can erupt into colourful costumes, sets and stories.
Amaluna, focuses on a mysterious island ruled by Goddesses. In this tale a mother directing her daughters coming of age ceremony, a celebration of femininity, renewal, rebirth and re balance, faces an unexpected problem. A group of young men wash up on the isle triggering an epic love story between the daughter and a brave young suitor. Fall for this love story through its ups and downs and immerse yourself in the outlandish world where imagination is your only limitation.
This castaway romance is accompanied by jaw-dropping performances and Cirque du Soleil’s signature mind-blowing acts. As well as this, Amaluna will feature two new acts, never before seen in the UK. This will be Cirque du Soleil's 33rd production. Written and directed by Tony-Award winning director Diane Paulus and certainly not one to miss!
The Cirque du solei is a Canadian entertainment company. Starting in the early 1980’s, at first only a group of people wishing to entertain over the years they created a vision of what the modern circus could be. In 1987 Cirque du Solei visited the US for the first time – this was a turning point for the show. With a unique combination of set design, audience involvement and a theatre-in-the-round style they blew away audiences with their re-imagined version of the circus. From here their popularity boomed and they set off across the sea to perform in London and Paris.
